Steven Lanclos - Guitar, Bass, & Drums
Steven began his musical studies in junior high. He started with drums when he was twelve and began guitar lessons a few years later. He holds a music degree from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. He has taught drums, bass, and guitar privately in the Lafayette area. Before moving to Alabama he was the director of both the choral and percussion departments at Westminster Christian Academy in Opelousas, LA. He has done extensive work collaborating with other classical and jazz musicians for performances in the community, as well as touring in Mexico, Russia, and Brazil. He and his wife Sarah live in Birmingham.
Jay Taylor - Guitar, Mandolin
Jay Taylor is an Alabama based musician and teacher. He has been teaching for 20 years and building and repairing stringed instruments for nearly 25. He has studied and performed classical music at Florida State, jazz in Miami and bluegrass at Brevard College in North Carolina. Jay lives with his wife and fellow teacher at Gardendale Music, Helen Taylor, and has four beautiful children.
MiMi Lockett - Voice
Mimi Lockett is from Birmingham, Alabama, She holds a Bachelors of Arts Degree with emphasis in voice with secondary in piano and is currently a graduate student at Samford University. She is a voice student of Sharon Lawhon. She is member of the University Chorale, Birmingham Chamber Chorus and former member of the Opera Birmingham Chorus. Mimi studied piano with Constance Hudson Moore and William DeVann of Birmingham Southern College, Anthony Patton of the University of Montevallo, and Beth McGinnis of Samford University. She is an experienced pianist serving as keyboardist for the United States Army Band and the renowned Army Blues Jazz Band in Washington D.C. She serves as piano accompanist for Samford University. Mimi is a retired Army officer serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom receiving multiple medals and recognition from two former United States Presidents. Mimi is the proud mother of two vivacious sons, Joel and E. J.
Helen Taylor - Violin

Chris Brown - Saxophone
Chris began taking private saxophone lessons as a sophomore in high school. The summer after his junior year, he participated in the North Carolina Governor’s School East program as a Student of Instrumental Music. He finished his senior year of high school at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. There, he continued his undergraduate music studies and received a Bachelor of Music in Saxophone Performance in May 2013. He has collaborated with various artists and ensembles, including the Winston Salem Symphony Orchestra and hip-hop artist Masta Artisan. He has also been a member of several university bands, including the Samford Wind and Jazz Ensembles, and has served in several church music settings. He has experience in teaching masterclasses and private lessons. He now lives in Hoover, AL and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity at Beeson Divinity School.
Michael Tavani - Cello
Michael Tavani is a native of Northern Virginia, the second oldest of six brothers, and began studying cello at the age of six. His broad musical interests have led him to perform on four continents and throughout the United States, including concerts at venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, and Segerstrom Hall. Mr. Tavani holds degrees in music performance from Cleveland State University and Vanguard University of Southern California, and is currently doing graduate work at the University of Alabama. He also works as a freelance performer, teacher, and recording artist throughout the southeastern United States. A strong advocate of new music, Mr. Tavani regularly performs and premiers works by living composers, and works to commission new works whenever possible.
Ed Abernathy - Art
Ed has been drawing caricatures of people at parties & events for over 17 years. He started at Six Flags Over Georgia, worked there for 5 years, then at the Myrtle Beach Pavilion in 2002 - 2003. He has studied watercolor design and painting techniques with Tony Couch, and has taught painting for over 4 years.
Recent watercolor workshops were at the Jewish Community Center and Chateau Vestavia, volunteer classes at East Lake Library and Villa Maria, and weekly private classes since May of 2014. His paintings have sold at local shows and silent auction fundraisers. He's also designed several websites, animations and videos.
Ed has authored 2 novels (with over a million copies not sold) and is currently working on a new book about caricature, painting & creativity.
